Welcome to College Counseling

The mission of the College Counseling Department at Saint Thomas Academy is to facilitate the college search and application process for our students. It is our goal to provide each student and his parents with the information, advice and support needed to make good choices about where to apply and enroll for college.

Mr. Steve Bjork, Director of College Counseling, brings more than 20 years of higher education experience to Saint Thomas Academy from Hamline University. His tenure included directing the academic advising program at Hamline, serving as registrar, and for ten years leading the admission office as director and associate vice president. As associate vice president, Bjork managed graduate admission functions and the university career development center. His background includes extensive financial aid and merit scholarship management at the university level.

“Coaching individuals to think forward and consider and evaluate opportunities is what I believe. My career has been student centered and focused on supporting student decision making based on an exploration of interests and the setting and achieving of goals. Students at Saint Thomas Academy are unique in their educational experience in being able to do just this.”

Mr. Bjork is available for individual and group appointments with both students and parents.
